Adults with the autism spectrum have a high incidence of psychiatric disordersPsychiatric disorder. Proper treatment of the accompanying psychiatric disordersPsychiatric disorder usually improves their quality of life. In this chapter, the psychiatric disorders most often associated with the diagnosis of HFA in adults are addressed. There is researchResearch evidence that the occurrence of associated psychiatric disorders, especially if not treated, exacerbates suffering and reduces functioning in people with the autism spectrum. The purpose of this chapter is to introduce people with autism spectrum disorder and their families, as well as the paramedical staff to these disorders in order to facilitate their use of tailored psychiatric counseling. |
