Ian Spiers works in the Student Enabling Centre at the University of Wolverhampton. In this paper he describes the research he undertook with students from the university to gain an understanding of their experiences in Higher Education. He covers four key areas: transition, environment, social and academic. His paper highlights some positive experiences as well as negative experiences, and suggests areas for improvements. It is a small scale study, but the interesting results warrant further study from an independent research group. This paper will be of interest to professionals supporting students on the autism spectrum at university. |
