The role of the social worker is complex, varied, and dependent on the setting, context, and needs of individuals and their family members. The importance of social workers and the common roles that they play in the interdisciplinary team are discussed within this chapter. The chapter follows a developmental ages and stages framework to evidence-based, best practices in service delivery and supports that meet the needs of the individual with autism spectrum disorder and their caregivers. |
