Résumé : |
Social skills impairments in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) persist in adult life. There are different individual and group interventions for adults with ASD, designed to improve their instrumental social skills, that are comprised of several behavioral, narrative, and cognitive techniques. Decisions about which interventions might be more appropriate are informed by a thorough evaluation that includes individual and contextual variables, goals of the patient, and their preferred learning style. There is still much to research and learn about one of the most challenging and core areas of ASD. Future studies should ensure that samples who may be under-represented (e.g., women and nonbinary gender identities), are also recruited since these groups might present with different needs and require different supports? |
