Résumé : |
Dr Irina Roncaglia is a Chartered Psychologist and in this paper she reports on a 12-month project conducted in collaboration with an external agency with seven young people aged between 15 and 18 years. The aim was to teach knowledge and skills relating to sexual health and relationships. It became apparent that there was a need for suitable materials and resources to address the communication, social understanding and problem-solving difficulties these young adults often experience. In recognition of this, there has been a growing number of publications specifically on sexuality and the autism spectrum, on which we can now base our practice (eg Grieve et al, 2007; Henault, 2006; Lawson, 2005; Pukki, 2003). Materials then need to be tailored and customised to the particular needs of an individual on the basis of good assessment and discussion with ail key people. |
