Résumé : |
Andy McDonnell is a Clinical Psychologist and Director of Studio 3 based in Bath, Caroline Kenny is an Assistant Psychologist and Deirdre Buckley is a Training Facilitator, both of whom are based in Dublin. The application of the principles of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) with people on the autism spectrum is a relatively under researched and under reported area. The aim of this paper is to describe the delivery of an anxiety management programme using CBT with a group of adults with Asperger syndrome who access an outreach service. CBT is often delivered on an individual basis but the authors made a decision to try using CBT with a group. They provide an outline of the model used by the group facilitators and give data on the views of the adults with Asperger syndrome and the facilitators on the value of this approach. |
