The first section discusses the importance of reliable data collection and its role in planning for people on the autism spectrum. The next two sections identify the barriers that prevent people from accessing support and highlight the services that respondents said were most important. The final section reviews what the Government has done in 2008 to begin to address these issues and improve the lives of people with autism and identifies what still needs to be done.
