This work is now being taken forward by Mencap (www.mencap.org.uk) and by Bright (www.brightplace.org.uk) The match between television and autism is not always seen in a positive light and previous research has raised concerns which are outlined in this short paper by Marion Janner. the author has approached this subject by considering how television may be used as a learning tool and one in which a more positive interaction between people with an autistic spectrum disorder and television can be established.
