Titre : Promoting social and emotional development in children with autism: personal tutorials Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Phil CHRISTIE, Auteur ; Ruth FIDLER, Auteur ; Becky BUTTERFIELD, Auteur ; Kathleen J. DAVIES, Auteur Année de publication : 2008 Article en page(s) : p.32-38 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : PER Périodiques Résumé : There is an increasing emphasis upon gaining the views of pupils on the autism spectrum to inform plans and to enhance their social and emotional wellbeing and mental health. Developing ways of engaging pupils with limited communication is a particular challenge. This paper describes the individual sessions that staff within a specialist school have set up for many of its pupils. The focus and rationale of the work is given and the three case studies presented here show how staff have worked successfully with different pupils with a range of communication skills and needs. Comments from pupils, parents and staff provide some qualitative data on the potential benefits and the commitment needed for training and skills development among the staff for this work is emphasised. Titre : Standardisation of the Denver Developmental Screening Test for Cardiff children Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Gillian M. BRYANT, Auteur ; Kathleen J. DAVIES, Auteur ; Robert G. NEWCOMBE, Auteur Année de publication : 1979 Article en page(s) : p.353-64 Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : PER Périodiques Résumé : The items in the Denver Developmental Screening Test (DDST) have been restandardised on a random sample of 1547 Cardiff children aged up to six years. Some differences were found between the ages at which the Cardiff and Denver children achieved certain test items. Cardiff children were consistently slightly slower on gross motor items throughout the age-range, with the exception of three items, but were slightly more advanced on early language items below the age of 18 months and on some personal and social items. The implications of the findings for the use of the DDST in Britain are discussed. Permalink : https://www.cra-rhone-alpes.org/cid/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=496
