Objective Relatively little is known about weight status for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in China. This study examined the weight status of Chinese children and adolescents, as well as the factors that influence it. Methods This study describes three weight status (underweight, overweight, obesity) and their influencing factors associated with weight status retrospectively, in a large sample (N = 5910) of Chinese children and adolescents (2-16 years old) (average = 5.4 years, SD=2.6 years). Body mass index (BMI) was used to assess children and adolescents with ASD in 2020. Logit regression was used to investigate the factors that influence weight status. Results The prevalence of overweight, obesity was 14.2% and 11.6% respectively. The overall prevalence of overweight and obesity (?P 85) was 25.8%, with 22.3% in the 2-5-year-old group, 31.6% in the 6-8-year-old group, 30.8% in the 9-12-year-old group, and 29.0% in the 13-16-year-old group.
