Skinner's analysis of verbal behavior and works particularly well with children with minimal or no speech abilities. In this book Mary Lynch Barbera draws on her own experiences as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and also as a parent of a child with autism to explain VB and how to use it.
This step-by-step guide provides an abundance of information about how to help children develop better language and speaking skills, and also explains how to teach non-vocal children to use sign language. An entire chapter focuses on ways to reduce problem behavior, and there is also useful information on teaching toileting and other important self-help skills, that would benefit any child.
This book will enable parents and professionals unfamiliar with the principles of ABA and VB to get started immediately using the Verbal Behavior approach to teach children with autism and related disorders.

. - Colmar [France] : Jérôme Do Bentzinger, 2006 . - 222 p. ; 16,0cm x 24,0cm x 1,8cm.

Triumphs in Early Autism Treatment offers a wealth of insight and hope to both parents and clinicians. This book documents the latest research that shows that children who receive Applied Behavioral Analysis treatment consistently progress in skill development.
This groundbreaking treatment has allowed numerous children to reach the "best outcome status," a level of normal intellectual and educational functioning. In essence, they become indistinguishable from their peers in everyday life. A must-read for parents and clinicians, this book is the first to document "best outcome" case studies using exclusively ABA treatment.
Key Features:
- First-hand accounts of the intellectual and behavioral progress of seven autistic children, written in a narrative style by the ABA professionals who conducted the consultations
- Contributors include Audrey Gifford, who is both a professional Behavioral Analyst and a parent of an autistic child who received ABA treatment
- Overview of autism research prior to ABA and an introduction to the development of the method
- Analysis of ABA treatment demonstrating why ABA is the most effective of all treatment methodsPermalink : https://www.cra-rhone-alpes.org/cid/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=685 Triumphs in Early Autism Treatment [Texte imprimé et/ou numérique] / Ennio CIPANI, Directeur de publication . - Berlin [Allemagne] : Springer, 2008 . - 252 p. ; 23,5cm x 15,8cm x 1,7cm.

This introductory guide to ABA demystifies the basic terminology, the underlying principles, and commonly-used procedures of ABA using accessible, everyday language.
Albert J. Kearney explains the kinds of learning and reinforcement processes that form the basis of ABA programs. Having covered these essential principles, he describes how the science of behavior analysis can be effectively applied to real life behavior problems. He looks at how behavior is assessed and various intervention techniques that are often employed with children who have autism and other special needs. Having laid these essential foundations, Kearney touches on more advanced topics: the applications of ABA in behavioral education, such as precision teaching and programmed instruction.
Clear, accessible, and with a structure that is easy-to-follow, this book is an essential introduction to the discipline of ABA and its applications for parents and professionals.Permalink : https://www.cra-rhone-alpes.org/cid/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=491 Understanding Applied Behavior Analysis : An Introduction to ABA for Parents, Teachers, and other Professionals [Texte imprimé et/ou numérique] / Albert J. The ABA-based behavioral intervention strategies and the detailed curriculum focus on facilitating the child’s development and helping him or her to achieve the highest level of independence and quality of life possible. The book has served as a launching pad for many parents in the beginning stages of diagnosis and has been used as the cornerstone of countless intervention programs, meeting with enormous success.
The first half of the book, entitled Behavioral Management and Teaching Strategies with Autistic Children, gives parents insight and methods for dealing with difficult behaviors and self-stimulation to aid in the management and reduction of disruptive behavior. These beginning chapters also offer guidelines on how to address and manage sleep problems, toileting issues, eating problems, as well as how to incorporate social skills and playskills.
The second half of the book is a detailed curriculum entitled Autism Partnership Curriculum for Discrete Trial Teaching with Autistic Children. The exercises address skills such as play, receptive and expressive labeling, emotions, functions, categories, prepositions, verb tenses, sequencing, peer interaction and more. Each lesson covers the objectives, procedure and strategy for teaching each skill and provides numerous examples for easy implementation.
This is a complete guide that provides step-by-step instructions as well as creative ideas on how to make learning a natural progression. Emphasis is placed on learning age-appropriate skills, teaching in different settings, and creating a home program that emphasizes the joy of learning.
