WHITING, Directeur de publication Editeur : London, [Angleterre] : Routledge Année de publication : 2019 Importance : 243 p. Through a combination of research, practical interventions, and case vignettes, this text covers the diagnosis of ASD, how ASD impacts the family, systemic theories that can be used when treating families with children with ASD, spirituality and cultural dynamics, and collaboration with other professionals. Providing a systemic framework for conceptualizing a diagnosis that is typically discussed from an individual perspective, this book guides mental health clinicians toward a better understanding of how they can help the entire family unit. Titre : Tales from the Table : Lovaas/ABA Intervention with Children on the Autistic Spectrum Type de document : Texte imprimé et/ou numérique Auteurs : Margaret ANDERSON, Auteur Editeur : Londres [Angleterre] : Jessica Kingsley Publishers Année de publication : 2007 Importance : 128 p. Présentation : ill. Format : 15,5cm x 23,5cm x 0,7cm ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-1-84310-306-6 Note générale : Bibliogr., Index Langues : Anglais (eng) Index. décimale : APP-A APP-A - ABA - FBA - Approches Comportementales Résumé : Tales from the Table is a practitioner's account of the successes and limitations of using Lovaas/ABA home education with five young boys on the autistic spectrum.
The abilities and skills of these children before, during and after intervention are documented with a focus on the realities of undertaking Lovaas/ABA home education: the impact of a 35-hour learning week on both child and parents, changing tutors and issues of commitment to the approach. Each chapter includes a commentary on the programme from a different perspective, with the voices of parents, siblings and teachers providing the context to the individual children's learning processes.
This book will help parents to make an informed decision about using Lovaas/ABA interventions and will give professionals and students practical insights and useful information on the approach.Permalink : https://www.cra-rhone-alpes.org/cid/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=491 Tales from the Table : Lovaas/ABA Intervention with Children on the Autistic Spectrum [Texte imprimé et/ou numérique] / Margaret ANDERSON, Auteur . - Londres [Angleterre] : Jessica Kingsley Publishers, 2007 . - 128 p. : ill. ; 15,5cm x 23,5cm x 0,7cm.

Titre : Talking Picture Schedules: Embedding Video Models into Visual Activity Schedules to Increase Independence for Students with ASD Type de document : Texte imprimé et/ou numérique Auteurs : Amy D. SPRIGGS, Auteur ; Victoria KNIGHT, Auteur ; Lauren SHERROW, Auteur Année de publication : 2015 Article en page(s) : p.3846-3861 Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Modèles vidéo Technologie Visual activity schedules Video models Autism Independence Index. décimale : PER Périodiques Résumé : Studies examining video modeling and visual activity schedules independent of one another have been shown to be effective in teaching skills for students with autism, but there is little research about the effectiveness of combining the two methods. Use of visual activity schedules with embedded video models via an iPad application was investigated to determine if high school students with autism could transition within and between novel activities (e.g., writing paragraphs, setting a table, data entry) using a multiple probe across participants design. Findings indicate youth with autism were able to independently transition within and between tasks. Students exhibited high rates of generalization to the static visual activity schedules and novel task exemplars after the embedded video model was removed. Titre : Targeted treatments in autism and fragile X syndrome Type de document : Texte imprimé et/ou numérique Auteurs : Kağan GURKAN C., Auteur ; Randi J. HAGERMAN, Auteur Année de publication : 2012 Article en page(s) : p.1311-1320 Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Fragile X syndrome Autism mGluR GABA Treatment Index. décimale : PER Périodiques Résumé : Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder consisting of a constellation of symptoms that sometimes occur as part of a complex disorder characterized by impairments in social interaction, communication and behavioral domains. It is a highly disabling disorder and there is a need for treatment targeting the core symptoms. Although autism is accepted as highly heritable, there is no genetic cure at this time. Autism is shown to be linked to several genes and is a feature of some complex genetic disorders, including fragile X syndrome (FXS), fragile X premutation involvement, tuberous sclerosis and Rett syndrome. The term autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) covers autism, Asperger syndrome and pervasive developmental disorders (PDD-NOS) and the etiologies are heterogeneous. In recent years, targeted treatments have been developed for several disorders that have a known specific genetic cause leading to autism. Since there are significant molecular and neurobiological overlaps among disorders, targeted treatments developed for a specific disorder may be helpful in ASD of unknown etiology. Examples of this are two drug classes developed to treat FXS, Arbaclofen, a GABAB agonist, and mGluR5 antagonists, and both may be helpful in autism without FXS. The mGluR5 antagonists are also likely to have a benefit in the aging problems of fragile X premutation carriers, the fragile X-associated tremor ataxia syndrome (FXTAS) and the Parkinsonism that can occur in aging patients with fragile X syndrome. Targeted treatments in FXS which has a well known genetic etiology may lead to new targeted treatments in autism.
