The CBCL/1½-5's DSM-ASD Scale: Confirmatory Factor Analyses Across 24 Societies / Leslie A. RESCORLA in Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, 50-9 (September 2020)
[article]
Titre : The CBCL/1½-5's DSM-ASD Scale: Confirmatory Factor Analyses Across 24 Societies Type de document : Texte imprimé et/ou numérique Auteurs : Leslie A. RESCORLA, Auteur ; Allison ADAMS, Auteur ; Masha Y. IVANOVA, Auteur Article en page(s) : p.3326-3340 Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) Cbcl/1½–5 Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) International Preschool Index. décimale : PER Périodiques Résumé : Previous research supports the CBCL/1½-5's DSM-ASD scale (and its precursor, the DSM-PDP scale) as a Level 1 ASD screener. Confirmatory factor analyses (CFAs) with data from population samples in 24 societies (N?=?19,850) indicated good measurement invariance across societies, especially for configural and metric invariance. Items 4. 25, 67, 80, and 98 may be especially good discriminators of ASD because they have tend to have low base rates, strong loadings on the ASD latent construct, and the best measurement invariance across societies. Further research is needed to test the discriminative power of these items in predicting ASD, but our strong measurement findings support the international psychometric robustness of the CBCL/1½-5's DSM-ASD scale. Titre : Brief Report: Antibodies Reacting to Brain Tissue in Basque Spanish Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Their Mothers Type de document : Texte imprimé et/ou numérique Auteurs : Christy C. ROSSI, Auteur ; Joaquin FUENTES, Auteur ; Judy WATER, Auteur ; David G. AMARAL, Auteur Article en page(s) : p.459-465 Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Autism spectrum disorders Autoantibody Brain International Index. décimale : PER Périodiques Résumé : Previous investigations found that a subset of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in California possessed plasma autoantibodies that reacted intensely with brain interneurons or other neural profiles. Moreover, for several cohorts of American women, maternal autoantibody reactivity to specific fetal brain proteins was highly specific to mothers of children with ASD. We sought to determine whether children and their mothers from a regionally specific cohort from the Basque Country of Spain demonstrated similar reactivity. Some children’s plasma reacted to interneurons, beaded axons or other neural profiles with no difference in the occurrence of these antibodies in children with or without ASD. Findings on the maternal antibodies confirmed previous research; plasma reactivity to fetal brain a combination of proteins at 37 and 73 kDa or 39 and 73 kDa was found exclusively in mothers of children with ASD. BORNSTEIN, Auteur Article en page(s) : p.1203-1218 Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : COVID-19 externalizing internalizing international substance use Index. décimale : PER Périodiques Résumé : Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, adolescents (N = 1,330; Mages = 15 and 16; 50% female), mothers, and fathers from nine countries (China, Colombia, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Philippines, Sweden, Thailand, United States) reported on adolescents' internalizing and externalizing problems, adolescents completed a lab-based task to assess tendency for risk-taking, and adolescents reported on their well-being. During the pandemic, participants (Mage = 20) reported on changes in their internalizing, externalizing, and substance use compared to before the pandemic. Across countries, adolescents' internalizing problems pre-pandemic predicted increased internalizing during the pandemic, and poorer well-being pre-pandemic predicted increased externalizing and substance use during the pandemic. Other relations varied across countries, and some were moderated by confidence in the government?s handling of the pandemic, gender, and parents' education.
